The AIM Pro Walleye Series™ Bay Mills Invitational Walleye Tournament was held at the Bay Mills Resort and Casino this past weekend.

On the event’s final day, Saturday, June 2, kids ages 4-15 took part in the Kids’ Fishing Fun Day.  The kids got a chance to meet and greet their favorite AIM Pro Anglers and the Soo Eagles Hockey team.

Approximately 300 free rod and reel combinations were given away, courtesy of the National Professional Anglers Association, the Soo Area Sportsmen’s Club and Bay Mills Resort & Casino.   Children attending received “Future Pro” T-shirts, which the Pros and the Soo Eagles autographed. (see photos....)

The kids got a chance to try their new rods and reels under direction of the AIM Pros in a trout-stocked channel adjacent to the resort.   The Soo Eagles assisted those fishing by baiting hooks; untangling fishing lines, removing hooks from young angler catches, partaking in minnow races and games while Wisconsin Pro-Angler Tony Puccio conducted a “Learn to Cast” session.

The Soo Eagles would like to thank the Bay Mills Resort and Casino and the AIM Pro Walleye Series for allowing us to take part in the Kids’ Fishing Fun Day.  Despite the rain, it was a great event for all who attended.
